This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) is maintained by Parion Sciences, Inc. (“Parion” or “we” or “us”) for visitors to our website, http://www.parion.com (“Website”). This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected or processed concerning such visitors (“Users”) via the Website. This Privacy Policy does not cover the processing of personal information in connection with clinical trials. Information about how Parion processes personal information in the context of clinical trials is provided separately, e.g. at the relevant study sites.

If you are a User from the European Union or elsewhere in the European Economic Area (“EU/EEA”), please see the special provisions set forth in Section 7 below.

1. PURPOSES FOR WHICH PARION PROCESSES YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We process personal information for the following purposes:

(a) Contact submissions

We process personal information that you submit via the Website to respond to your inquiries and to contact you about related offers and news.

(b) Usage data (cookies and similar technologies)

We use cookies or similar technologies to provide a functioning and safe Website and to track how you use our Website in order to improve our Website and your user experience.

2. HOW PARION DISCLOSES YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Parion will only disclose your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

(a) Service providers

We may disclose personal information to third-party service providers, including but not limited to advisors, technology service providers, and analytics service providers, for the purpose of conducting our business and providing you with the best user experience on the Website. We have carefully selected these service providers and have entered into data processing agreements with them, if required by applicable law.

(b) Other third parties

Parion will only disclose your personal information to third parties that process the personal information for their own purposes if necessary and permitted by applicable law. Parion may disclose your personal information to third parties when obligated or permitted to do so by law and in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected, or actual unlawful activities, including but not limited to fraud and situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or to authorities or law enforcement agencies to comply with legal obligations or to support external audits. In some cases, we may provide personal information to third parties at your request or with your consent. We also may transfer your personal information to a successor company in connection with any sale of our business, internal corporate reorganization, or transfer as part of a bankruptcy proceeding.

3. INFORMATION SECURITY MEASURES

We have implemented and maintained reasonable administrative, physical, and technical information security measures designed to protect your personal information from unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, or access. We cannot, however, be responsible for Internet communications as such communications are inherently not completely secure.

The Website may contain links to third-party websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of such other websites, and we are not responsible for the actions and privacy policies of the third parties that operate or interact with those websites.

5. CHILDREN’S PERSONAL INFORMATION

This Website is not intended for use by minors, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from Users under the age of 18. If you feel that we have unknowingly collected personal information from someone under the age of 18, please contact us immediately as described in the CONTACT US section below and this data will be removed.

6. UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

Parion may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will provide notice of such changes on the Website for approximately one month. The applicable version of this Privacy Policy as to any particular personal information will be the version that is effective at the time when such personal information is collected.

This section of the Privacy Policy applies only if you use the Website from a country that is a Member State of the European Economic Area (EEA).

(i) Contact submissions

We process your personal information for this purpose to fullfil your contact request and thus for contract performance (Art. 6(1) lit. b GDPR).

We store your personal information only as long as necessary in connection  with your contact request, including pursuant to a legal obligation to retain copies or as required to make or defend against legal claims.

(ii) Usage data (cookies and related technologies)

We use cookies that are necessary to provide Users with the Website (strictly necessary cookies) and cookies that enable helpful functions e.g. the contact form (functionality cookies) based on our legitimate interests to provide a functioning and secure Website.

We use analytical cookies (Google Analytics) based on you consent (Art. 6(1) lit. a GDPR) that you provide through continued surfing on the Website. Please see section 1(b) above to learn how to deactivate cookies.
